Thanksgiving Pie Making
Pies were my main focus Thanksgiving 2021. I was cooking in our small kitchen in Park City, Utah, so I wanted to devote my attention to one course: dessert. I read The Book on Pie by Erin McDowell and watched her pie crash course youtube videos for pointers and inspiration. I made 3 pies: apple with a classic crust, pumpkin with a brown butter crust, and a chocolate pecan with a chocolate crust. By the end of this process I was able to make the pie crusts with ease, tweaked the fillings to achieve ideal flavors, and was able to shape and design the top crusts.
